Transformation

December 15, 2023

How will you deal with this highly stressful holiday season? Will you let it run you ragged? Will you shut down? Will you drive yourself into exhaustion? Will all the duties and obligations hijack your joy?

There is a trustworthy way to ensure you can handle the season easily and joyfully. It is the way of the soul. Our soul is not uneasy about the number of gifts we give or their quality or quality. It is not consumed with the presents on Christmas morning. The soul is not fixated on who invited us to what party and if we will have fun there.

The soul is concerned with peace, joy, and presence. These are not the primary concerns of the ego, and if the ego desires peace, joy, and presence, it will manufacture them. But its products are only imitations of peace, joy, and presence. The soul is the home of these in all their authenticity.

If we want true peace, joy, and presence, we must transform from ego to essence. When we do, the considerable pressure the ego carries lifts because we have no inner critic to answer to; instead, we respond to our soul's calling. If we need a night to sit by the fire and dream, meditate, read, write, or listen to music, we do, even if we have to miss another activity. If our gifts are not as fancy and as much as we wish they would be, we will allow that reality to be. Instead of gifts and material things, we emphasize our presence. That is invaluable!

Inquiry: What are my gifts?

Dear God,

Grant me my soul’s desires, so I can live in the joy, peace, and presence I was created to live in. Transform me, dear God. Amen
