ICB is offering a new Recovery Track in our Enneagram Trainings:
During the ICB intensives, students interested in combining the wisdom of the Enneagram with the principles of recovery will have scheduled times together in a Mentor Group facilitated by Art Wimberly. Art is the Executive Director at THRIVE, an organization that provides quality, affordable Recovery and Wellness resources for individuals, families, and organizations seeking help for today and hope for tomorrow.
In entering this track, the individual student's connection to recovery might be any of the following:
- as a person in recovery from a substance or behavioral addiction
- as a loved-one of a person in active recovery and/or struggling with addictive behavior
- as a ‘helper’ or ‘ally’ of someone in recovery (e.g. counselor, therapist, minister, sponsor, coach)
During the intermittent Mentor Group sessions, the members will be encouraged to process together more deeply the teachings, practices, and emotions they will have just experienced in the main faculty/presenter sessions. In addition, Art will help connect that Enneagram work to the principles of conscious recovery pathways. He will also share how the insights, practices, and principles gleaned from twenty-plus years of his own recovery and helping others can help make our Enneagram work more practical and focused. Importantly, the group dynamic and structure will encourage members to share any insights they have received from their particular pathways of recovery and/or Enneagram work. In this way, each of us benefits from the collective group experience.
Particular attention will be given (but not limited) to:
- how the integration of our three Intelligence Centers impacts our recovery
- the role of healthy Community in our recovery
- how our individual Ego Type’s unconscious habits/patterns are covering up our Divine Essence
- which entry point in Enneagram wisdom (e.g. Soul Child, Holy Idea, Virtue, Instinctual work) works best for the individual
- what principle of recovery and practice of the Enneagram might combine to afford us the most traction at this point in our consciousness/recovery journey
