The Future

Why do people want to know the future? Many of us are fearful of uncertainty, so we feel the more we know of the future, the more we can control it. There are a lot of folks who find ways to look into the future. In many cases, this is their ego’s irrational attempt to control the mysteries of life itself.

Some people have impressions of what the future will bring. Called psychics or intuitives, if they are authentic, they fall under the broad umbrella of what the scriptures call prophets. Some, like Carolyn Myss (Anatomy of the Spirit, 1996) are medical intuitives and can discern the origin of diseases. After studying with her, I am convinced she has a special gift. The few psychics and intuitives who have access to the “unknowable” of the future and the past have existed since the beginning of time.

The ones who use their gifts for the good of all never take advantage of people or terrorize others with their foreknowledge. John Edward (Infinite Quest, 2010) has the gift of knowing the unknowable. He is reasonable and loving. After meeting and speaking with him, I can say his purpose is to help. John’s book, Infinite Quest, explains how every human has the gift of intuition and sensing. He tells the reader how to develop these fantastic potentials.

So what do we do with the fact that someone may know what’s in store for us, the meaning of past events, our love life or our health? The true prophet would want to know our motivation. Is it to help, serve, heal or bring closure? Or do we want to be our own God?

If your soul needs to talk to someone with the spiritual gift of prophecy, and if everyone’s motives are pure, a way will be found to understand the unknowable that would help you on your journey.
