Love at First Sight

We are attracted to many different people, activities and situations. Some are fleeting or short-lived, some remain all our lives. Our deepest attractions remind us of our profound connection to our soul and to the Divine.

Therefore, they are priceless.

We may be attracted to the sunlight — the warmth that bathes us in radiant energy from beyond. We may be drawn to the sound of water flowing, which reminds us of God’s soothing music for our souls. We may yearn to lose ourselves in distant vistas which pull us past the horizon and connect us to infinity. We may reach out to hold a baby and to feel at one with pure love. We may want to touch and be touched— when tenderly caressed, we reconnect to our preciousness.

Our senses are gateways to heaven. For example, I have always been attracted to the color turquoise. I first looked at the color turquoise when on a small sailboat in the Caribbean Sea; various hues of turquoise surrounded us for two weeks. I did not want to leave the vast expanse of turquoise because, inside it, I was nearer heaven, uplifted and enlivened. It was love at first sight.
