Love at First Sight

Have you ever been in love with something right off the bat? I was invited to a cardio class at the YMCA called Zumba about fifteen years ago. The music got right into my body and moved me seemingly without exertion. The workout was painless because the fantastic music filled my every cell and transported me to places worldwide. It was love at first move.

I have been doing Zumba since that first day because I loved it from that first class. The only thinking required is to watch the teacher for the next move; the music bathes my heart in beautiful emotions, and my body feels fully alive. Therefore, all three centers of intelligence are engaged.

My ego type is in the mental center of intelligence, so I typically think and overthink, but Zumba relieves me of that compulsion. The energizing music sets me in a rhythm that balances my emotions. Some of the pieces stir my soul, especially the Latin songs. My body exerts muscles I do not typically use, so the life force moves all through me. I am present.

We fall more deeply in love with things that touch our soul in all three Centers: Head, Heart and Body.
