The Power of Healing
March 23, 2024
Renowned cardiac surgeon Christiaan Barnard (1922-2001), who in 1967 performed the world's first heart transplant, said, "Love is the most powerful force in the universe, stronger than any medical procedure." He believed that Love, in its essential form, supersedes the material world. He maintained that Love heals, raises our consciousness, and transforms us more than anything.
I wholeheartedly believe what Dr. Bernard said so beautifully. As a soul, like millions of other souls with the purpose of healing, I have noticed that my ability to conduct the healing power is commensurate with the healing vibration of Love that I can receive. I cannot be open to ideas, insights, wisdom, and energy beyond myself unless I become wholly aligned with that vibration. As a grateful conductor of that energy, I am open to the highest concept of God that my being can realize in that moment. In this state, the body, mind, and heart work synchronically. If unchecked, my ego can instantly shut down that vibration.
Much of the challenge in the healing relationship is to invite the person needing healing into the space and the vibration of healing. When I have been in the presence of a true healer to whom I have come for healing, they radiate peace and acceptance. Only then can I relax and listen to them. In my gut, I am convinced of their intention. On the other hand, if I discern that the healer is distracted, preoccupied, or that they do not care, I can't trust them. I naturally do not expose myself to them any further.
The healer discerns my pain. She picks up on my total being, not just the presenting problem. Her voice and touch tell me that I matter and that she intends me to be well. She is present. Her ego is serving her soul. She listens to me even when my ego distorts my thoughts. With a third ear, she hears the truth in my anxious words. She reassures me that things will shift. I am responsible for being receptive to the healing power she, as an intermediary, conducts. The healing relationship is forged.
Inquiry: Why do you not return to particular healers? Why do you return to others?
Dear God,
I pray for the gift of discernment, and for my healers, I pray they may also discern.
Amen.
