Living Life to Its Fullest Part 3
The secret of living life to its fullness is not a “one size fits all” proposition. What brings life to its fullness for one person may be very different for someone else. We see this all around us. There are the golfers, the geeks, the nature enthusiasts, the family-oriented, the gardeners, the sportspeople, the travelers, the chefs, the teachers, the builders, the movers and shakers, the artists, and a myriad of other “Fullnesses.” But these are simply the top layers of the things that satisfy us.
The top layer of things we do to make a full life also satisfies something deeper, on the level of our soul. The nine basic soul fullnesses are:
Aligning with the Divine—perfecting our gifts physically, mentally and emotionally
Giving of ourselves for the welfare and betterment of others
Taking Meaningful Action
Co-creating with God
Applying wisdom to improve our lives and the lives of others
Fostering Kindred Spirits and community
Bringing joy to ourselves and to others
Using Power and strength for all
Furthering Loving Peace
Yes, whatever we do that makes our lives full, from raising pet turtles to conducting a session of the UN Security Council can be traced back to one or more of the nine major soul fullnesses. These nine things that bring our lives to their fullness are universal—because they are soul fullnesses, they are shared among everyone.
Spiritual practice: Reflect on the outer layers of your activities that fill your soul.
Self-inquiry: What might be your top three soul fullnesses and why?
Dear God,
Help me to realize that although we are vastly different, our souls desire many of the same things on the levels of the soul. Amen
