The Power of Hope

We warmly invite you to this week's series of Daily Reflections on "The Power of Hope."

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1).

Hope is a powerful and universal idea. It is one of the essential Holy Ideas. Though Holy Hope is associated with Ego Type Three, it is essential to all nine ego types.

When circumstances appear beyond redemption, hope keeps us going. How is this possible? It will not let us be consumed by fear and negativity. Hope is one of the universe's most powerful elements.

Hope is the capacity to embrace the positive, even in negativity. It may seem as if hope is something outside of us that we must attain. Instead, hope resides in our soul but manifests only when we reconnect to it.

In our darkest nights, hope provides a state of consciousness that makes a way when there seems to be no way. In hope, divine order becomes increasingly possible because it creates space in our hearts, minds and bodies for a way forward. The consciousness of a positive outlook inoculates us against infectious despair and downward spiraling. Hope creates faith.

Inquiry: When did you last need Holy Hope? How did your hope build your faith?

Dear God,

Reconnect me to my inner hope. I cannot go forward without it, or without the faith it creates in me. Amen.
